Top seeds Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Black Sabbath’s Paranoid won their opening round matchups. The wins give all four number one seeds int he tournament a spot in Round 2.
On Dave’s bracket, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album easily disposed of The Runaways self-titled album. In fact, it was a shutout for quite a while. Dark Side of the Moon would capture 92.9% of the vote.
After a big of a sluggish start, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid would go on to defeat The Guess Who’s American Woman on Surgeon’s bracket capturing 65% of the vote.
On Dave’s bracket, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon will face the winner of the 4-5 matchup between Dolly Parton’s Jolene and Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run. Meanwhile on Surgeon’s bracket, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid faces the winner of the 4-5 matchup between Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
