BOTB 1970s: Billy Joel Advances, The Who Edges Boston

The 4-5 matchups begin this week. On Hector’s bracket 4th seeded The Who’s Who’s Next held off 5th seeded Boston’s self-titled album in the tournament’s closest match to date. On Coop’s bracket, 5th seeded Billy Joel’s The Stranger had little problem eliminating Blondie’s Parallel Lines.

While The Who’s Who’s Next led from start to finish, it was a close matchup. The Who would capture 52.9% of the vote to Boston’s 47.1%.

Meanwhile Billy Joel’s The Stranger also led from start to finish capturing 68.4% of the vote to Blondie’s Parallel Lines 31.6%

On Hector’s bracket, 4th seeded The Who’s Who’s Next will face top seeded Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours in the Sweet Sixteen. On Coop’s bracket, 5th seeded Billy Joel’s The Stranger faces top seed Led Zeppelin IV.
