BOTB 1970s: Pink Floyd Crushes Elton John; Dolly KO’s Bruce

Dolly crushes Bruce while Pink Floyd lands a second album in the Sweet 16.

The 4-5 matchups have wrapped up. On John’s bracket 4th seeded Pink Floyd The Wall steamrolled over 5th seeded Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. On Dave’s bracket, 4th seeded Dolly Parton’s Jolene had little problem eliminating 5th seeded Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run.

Pink Floyd’s The Wall jumped out from the beginning and never looked back. The Who would capture 81.3% of the vote to Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road‘s 18.7%. The win gives Pink Floyd two albums in the Sweet Sixteen. Wish You Were Here, the top seed on Dave’s bracket has secured the other spot for Pink Floyd.

Meanwhile Dolly Parton’s Jolene jumped out early and also held on for an easy victory. Jolene captured 62.5% of the vote to Springsteen’s Born to Run’s 37.5%

On John’s bracket, 4th seeded Pink Floyd The Wall will face top seeded Black Sabbath’s Paranoid in the Sweet Sixteen. On Dave’s bracket, 4th seeded Dolly Parton’s Jolene faces top seed Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here.
