BOTB 1970s: Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Continue Dominance

Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd roll on.

The 2024 Battle of the Bands tournament is turning into the Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd invitational. Both bands had crushing wins in Coop and Hector’s brackets respectively. This gives these two bands five guaranteed spots in the Sweet Sixteen – three for Pink Floyd and two for Led Zeppelin. It’s indicative of the 2020 tournament when Zeppelin beat Floyd in the finals.

6th seeded Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here demolished 3rd seeding The Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street on Hector’s bracket. It was never close with Pink Floyd racking up a stunning 87.5% of the vote.

Meanwhile 3rd seeded Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti was equally impressive on Coop’s bracket. Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti crushed sixth seeded George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass getting 86.7% of the vote.

On Hector’s bracket, 6th seeded Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here will face the winner of 2nd seeded Hotel California by the Eagles and 7th seeded Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder. On Coop’s bracket, 3rd seeded Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti faces the winner of 2nd seeded the Clash’s London Calling and 7th seeded Supertramp’s Breakfast in America.
