BOTB 1970s: The Eagles and Clash Cruise to Easy Wins

The 2-7 matchups have started in the 2024 Battle of the Bands: The 1970s tournament. On Hector’s bracket 2nd seeded The Eagles Hotel California had no trouble eliminating 7th seeded Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Live. Meanwhile on Coop’s bracket, 2nd seeded The Clash’s London Calling cruised to victory of 7th seeded Supertramp’s Breakfast in America.

The Eagles Hotel California led from start to finish capturing a whopping 86.7% of the vote. At the same time, The Clash’s London Calling got a decisive 75% of the vote – also leading from start to finish. It’s the second year in a row London Calling has landed in the Sweet 16.

On Hector’s bracket 2nd seeded The Clash’s London Calling will face 6th seeded Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. On Coops bracket 2nd seeded The Clash’s London Calling faces 3rd seeded Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti.
