Pink Floyd continues to be the story of this tournament. The band had two albums win their second round matchups and secure Elite 8 spots. On John’s bracket 4th seeded Pink Floyd, The Wall crushed top seeded Black Sabbath’s Paranoid. On Dave’s bracket, top seeded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon survived a challenge from Dolly Parton’s Jolene.
On John’s bracket, Pink Floyd’s The Wall completely dominated – leading from start to finish and knocking out Black Sabbath’s Paranoid by capturing 78.3%. Paranoid is the first top seed in 2024 to get eliminated from the tournament.
On Dave’s side of the bracket, while top seeded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon also led from start to finish, Dolly Parton kept it close with Jolene. In the end Pink Floyd won with 60% to Parton’s 40% of the vote.
On John’s bracket 4th seeded Pink Floyd, The Wall will face the winner of the 2nd seeded Queen’s A Night at the Opera and 6th seeded Van Halen, Van Halen. On Dave’s bracket top seeded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon will face the winner of the matchup between 2nd seeded Bob Marley’s Exodus and 3rd seeded Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On.
