A pair of second seeds have secured the final two spots in the 2024 Battle of the Bands: The 1970s Elite 8. On Dave’s bracket, second seeded Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Exodus had little trouble beating third seeded Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On. Meanwhile on Surgeon’s bracket, Queen’s A Night at the Opera held off Van Halen’s Van Halen album.
On Dave’s bracket, Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Exodus captured 62.5% of the vote over Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On. It’s the second Elite 8 in five years for Bob Marley who last made the Elite 8 in 2020.
On Surgeon’s bracket, it was close, but Van Halen’s Van Halen couldn’t get over the hump with Queen’s A Night at the Opera. Queen would get 52.9% of the vote.
On Dave’s bracket, 2nd seeded Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Exodus will face top seeded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in that bracket final. On Surgeon’s bracket 2nd seeded Queen’s A Night at the Opera will face 4th seeded Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
