Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2025 Nominations for Induction

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced 14 artists have been nominated for its 2025 induction class. The 2025 inductees will be announced in late April with an induction ceremony scheduled to take place this Fall.

In order to be considered eligible, artists or bands must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago. The following is the list of artists nominated for 2025. In parentheses are listed the total times historically the artist has been nominated.

• Joy Division/New Order (2)
• Cyndi Lauper (2)
• Maná (1)
• Oasis (2)
• Outkast (1)
• Phish (1)
• Soundgarden (2)
• The White Stripes (3)

Eight out of 14 of the Nominees are on the ballot for the first time, including: Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish.

“These remarkable Nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude, impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever-evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll”, said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in a press release. 

In terms of the process, nominee ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 1,200 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. An artist’s musical impact and influence on other artists, length and depth of career and body of work as well as innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is once again the opportunity to participate in the Induction selection process with the 2025 Induction Fan Vote. Now through April 21st 2025, fans can vote every day at vote.rockhall.com, or at the museum in Cleveland. The top vote getters will comprise a single “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to select the 2025 Inductees.

The 2025 Performer Inductees will be revealed in late April, along with those Inductees entering the Hall under three special committee categories: Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award.
