The New Oldies: #10 Album of the Year 2025: Bryan Adams – Roll With the Punches

Something seems to be missing these days. It seems that record companies, radio stations, and streaming services are pushing some the great established musicians to the background. As a result these veteran artists are not getting the attention they deserve. Enter the Top 10 Album Countdown: The New Oldies. The main point is simple – to make this list you must have at least 20 years of producing established music. The album by the artist must have been released between November 1st, 2024 and October 31st, 2025.

#10 Bryan Adams – Roll with the Punches

When it comes to Canadian music history, if you look at a decade from 1983 to 1993, Bryan Adams was a big a star as there was. It was not just in the Canadian market, as Adams established himself as one of the biggest acts in the music industry. Adams proved he could do hard rock, the pop song, and the soft ballad. While in this author’s eyes, Adams had done enough for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame consideration, that has not happened yet. One negative factor might be the last 30 years hasn’t been as strong creatively or commercially for Adams. In 2022, Adams landed on the New Oldies Countdown with So Happy It Hurts proving he could still pump something out creatively. Now he’s back again in 2025 with Roll With the Punches.

Bryan Adams turned 66 years old in November. He can be classified as a senior citizen, but with Roll with the Punches, he has found the fountain of youth. I honestly was thrown back to the Adams of in his 20s, with anthemic coming of age lyrics, and some great guitar driven riffs. His voice simply hasn’t lost an edge either.

Adams is joined by some old friends for this album. This includes Keith Scott (Adams; Long-time guitarists), Jim Vallance (songwriting collaborating partner from Cuts Like a Knife and Reckless), and Robert “Mutt” Lange (who produced Adams on Waking Up the Neighbours).

With ten tracks and 8 of them under 4 minutes, it will definitely hold ones attention span. This is a an excellent effort that is bound to keep Adams fans quite happy.
