It was not a good couple of days for British Rock. On John’s bracket, 3rd seeded ZZ Top’s Eliminator shocked 2nd seeded The Clash’s London Calling. Meanwhile on Hector’s bracket, the U2 backlash continued as the 3rd seeded Beastie Boys’ Licensed to Ill defeated U2’s The Joshua Tree. Both the ZZ Top and the Beastie Boys move on to the Elite 8 where they will be in the finals of John and Hector’s bracket respectively
On John’s bracket, the Clash’s London Calling built an early lead over ZZ Top’ Eliminator. ZZ Top came on strong later on day one, surged ahead on day two and never looked back. ZZ Top would win 52.4% – 47.6% over the Clash..
A similar thing happened on Hector’s bracket as U2’s The Joshua Tree went out to an early lead, but the Beastie Boys’ Licensed to Ill moved ahead later on day one and held on for a 57.1%-42.9% win.
