80s Madness: Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC Earn Last Two Final Four Spots

Top seeded Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction and AC/DC’s Back in Black have won Dave and Coop’s brackets respectively. As a result both are heading to the Final 4 of the Battle of the Bands’ 80s Madness Tournament

On Dave’s bracket; while Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction pretty much lead from start to finish over 2nd seeded N.W.A.’s Straight Outta Compton, N.W.A kept within striking distance, but ultimately could not oust Guns N’ Roses. In the end Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction would win 57.1% to 42.9%. Dave’s bracket would go chalk from start to finish with every higher seed beating a lower seed.

On Coop’s bracket, 3rd seeded Peter Gabriel’s So fell behind early and never really challenged AC/DC’s Back in Black. AC/DC would cruise to a 63% to 37% win.  AC/DC is the only non U.S. artist to make this year’s Final Four.

The Final Four is set to open Monday May 1, 2023 (U.S.).  The matchups (based on the draft order) are as follows:

    • Back in Black, AC/DC (Coop) vs. Master of Puppets, Metallica (John)
    • Purple Rain, Prince (Hector) vs. Appetite for Destruction, Guns N’ Roses (Dave)
