In a telephone interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal, singer and musician David Lee Roth has announced he will retire following a series of five January 2022 shows at the Mandalay Bay House of Blues.
“I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring,” Roth told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “This is the first, and only, official announcement. … You’ve got the news. Share it with the world.”
Roth is best known for his stints as the lead vocalists for Van Halen. In 1984, he departed the band to embark on a solo career. While his solo career started promising, it would crash and burn. He would return to performing with the band in 2007.
Roth’s five shows begin on December 31, 2021 and are followed by performances on January 1st, January 5, as we’ll as January 7 -8.
