Coop’s Top 10 2021 Album Countdown: The New Oldies

For the second year in a row, I will be counting down what I term, The New Oldies – a selection of the best albums by established artists.

Something seems to be missing these days. It seems that record companies, radio stations, and streaming services are pushing some the great established musicians to the background. As a result these veteran artists are not getting the attention hey deserve. I felt there needed to be a way to recognize these veteran artists, thus The New Oldies was born last year.

The main point will be simple – to make this list you must have at least 20 years of producing established music. The album by the artist must have been released between November 1st, 2020 and October 31st, 2021.

I also feel the work of an album as a cohesive unit has become a lost art, so this will hopefully not only bring attention back to the artists, but to the concept of an album. 2021 saw amazing work by veteran artists and I think this list will highlight it.

The Countdown will start once Dave’s OOPS Series is complete.
