The Elite 8 is on! Alanis Morissette scored a stunning upset in the final of Dave Burck’s Bracket to earn a spot in the final four. Meanwhile Nirvana held off Dr Dre in Hector Alfonso’s Bracket Final. Both bracket finals had some of the highest voting in Battle of the Bands history.
On Dave’s bracket, 3rd seeded Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill came strong out of the gate and never looked back defeating top-seeded Radiohead’s OK Computer. Morissette would capture 56.7% of the vote. For Morissette, she becomes the first female artist in Battle of the Bands history to reach the Final Four. Radiohead becomes the first #1 seed to go down in the 90s Madness Edition of the tournament.
Meanwhile on Hector’s bracket, the battle between top seeded Nirvana’s Nevermind and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic was a competitive one. Dr. Dre took and early lead on day one, but Nirvana would rally back by the end of the first day. Dr. Dre kept it close, but couldn’t close the gap as Nirvana would win capturing 56.4% of the vote. It’s the second year in a row Nirvana is in the Final Four.
