80s Madness: Top Seeds Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC Steamroll to Sweet Sixteen

Top Seeds Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC had no problem with their opening round matchups. Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction crushed the Violent Femmes’ self-titled album in Dave’s bracket. Meanwhile AC/DC’s Back in Black demolished Phil Collins’ No Jacket Required in Coop’s bracket.  Both matchups were 1 seeds defeating 8 seeds.

On Dave’s bracket, Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction would win getting 76.5% of the vote over the Violet Femmes’ Violet Femmes album which garnered 23.5% of the vote.

On Coop’s bracket, the margin was even bigger. AC/DC’s Back in Black got 84.2% of the vote over Collins’ No Jacket Required that got 15.8%

With Dave’s bracket, Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction will face the winner of the 4-5 matchup between Whitney Houston’s Whitney and Def Leppard’s Hysteria. Meanwhile on Coop’s bracket, AC/DC’s Back in Black faces the winner of the 4-5 matchup between Van Halen’s 5150 and The Police’s Synchronicity.
