Top seeded Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC had no problems in the Sweet Sixteen matchups. On Dave’s bracket, Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction cruised to an easy victory over 4th seeded Def Leppard’s Hysteria while AC/DC’s Back in Black crushed 4th seeded Van Halen’s 5150 on Coop’s bracket.
On John’s bracket, Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction would win 78.9% to 21.1% over Def Leppard’s Hysteria . Guns N’ Roses came out of the gate early and never looked back.
On Coop’s bracket, AC/DC’s Back in Black led wire to wire crushing Van Halen’s 5150 83.3% to 16.7%. Van Halen still has one more chance to get to the Elite 8, but this one is through Dave’s bracket with the 1984 album.
With the win, Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction moves to the finals of Dave’s bracket where it will face the winner of 2nd seeded N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton and 3rd seeded Van Halen’s 1984. AC/DC moves to the finals of Coop’s bracket where it will face the winner of 2nd Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A. and 3rd seeded Peter Gabriel’s So.
