Three months after the release of McCartney III comes an album of covers from that album. The project is called McCartney III Imagined. It’s available for pre-order now, and will be available April 16th 2021.
Originally released December 18, 2020, McCartney III is the third in a trilogy of home-made and self-titled albums that began with Paul’s 1970 solo debut McCartney, and continued in 1980 with McCartney II. A common thread is that all three albums were written, performed and produced by McCartney in varying states of isolation. McCartney III is said to have been recorded in “Rockdown”.
The are tracks from various contemporary artists that McCartney calls “friends, fans and brand new acquaintances”. While McCartney III Imagined is not scheduled until an April release, the cover of The Kiss of Venus is available digitally and on video. This is a song covered by Dominic Fike.
