The 8-9 matchups of the 2021 Battle of the Bands did not prove to be as close as we thought as The Beastie Boys and Miles Davis easily won their first round matchups.
The Beastie Boys, the 8th seed in Dave’s bracket defeated the 9th seeded Grateful Dead capturing 71.4% percentage of the vote. The matchup was close in the first day, but the Beastie Boys surged ahead on Day 2.
Meanwhile on Coop’s bracket, 9th seeded Miles Davis had no problems defeating 8th seed Madonna – cruising to a victory with 87.5% of the vote.
The Beastie Boys will face top-seeded Nirvana in the second round of Dave’s bracket. On Coop’s bracket, Miles Davis will move on to face U2 in Round 2.
