2021 Battle of the Bands: Allman Brothers Band eliminates Dolly; Billy Joel defeats Diana Ross

In one of the wildest matchups of the 2021 Battle of the Bands Tournament, the Allman Brothers Band won a see-saw battle with Dolly Parton on Dave’s side of the bracket. Meanwhile on Coop’s bracket, Billy Joel had little problems defeating Diana Ross.

The matchup between Dolly and the Allman Brothers Band pitted two favorites associated with Prime Time Jukebox. Prime Time Jukebox host Dave Burck is a long-time fan of Dolly. Meanwhile Jukebox Contributor Seth Geise is known for his love of he Allman Brothers Band. The two took to social media which resulted in one of the most back and forth battles in the history of the Battle of the Bands. On the second day, the 10th seed Allman Brothers Band took the lead and would eliminate 7th seeded Dolly Parton. The Allman Brothers Band would wind up with 55.6 % of the vote.

Dolly was also the first overall pick in the 2021 Battle of the Bands draft.

Meanwhile on Coop’s bracket, 10th seed Billy Joel captured 66.7% of the vote eliminating one of Coop’s favorites, 7th seeded Diana Ross.

The Allman Brothers Band will face the winner of the Jimi Hendrix – Nina Simone matchup. Meanwhile Billy Joel will face the winner of the Frank Sinatra-Duran Duran matchup.

The women have continued to struggle in the 2021 Battle of the Bands. The losses by Dolly Parton and Diana Ross brings them to a combined 0-7 record in this year’s tournament. Nina Simone represents the ladies’ last chance to advance to Round 2.
