In the final pair of matchups of Round 2 of the 2021 Battle of the Bands, Frank Sinatra scored an easy victory over Billy Joel on Coop’s bracket to secure one of the final spots in the Elite 8. The other Elite 8 spot goes to Jimi Hendrix, who faced a good challenge from the Allman Brothers Band in a matchup on Dave’s side of the bracket
Joel last year made it to the Elite 8 in the 2020 Battle of the Bands before falling to Elton John. This year on Coop’s side of the bracket, the 10th seeded Joel was no matchup for 2nd seeded Frank Sinatra who scored an easy wire to wire victory capturing 75% of the vote.
Meanwhile on Dave’s side of the bracket, the 10th seeded Allman Brothers Band would keep it close to 2nd seeded Jimi Hendrix, but ultimately wouldn’t make it over the top. Hendrix got 58.8% of the vote.
Heading into the Elite 8, Hendrix will face Bruce Springsteen on Dave’s side of the bracket. Meanwhile Sinatra will face Paul McCartney on Coop’s side of the bracket.
